The game mechanics have vastly improved, gameplay is smooth and fun and using the weapons will definitely satisfy as you hack, slash and parkour your way through a vibrant city - which is buzzing with activity and is much improved graphically. It does take a few hours to settle into the new storyline and features etc, but once it gets going (after about 4 hours in) you can really start to enjoy the missions and usual zombie slaying fun as your skills grow and you pick up better weapons and abilities. I'd never buy another Dying light game again, if somehow they manage to find inspiration to make another.Īs a fan of the first game, I was looking forward to playing the second installment. I wanted to love it but ended up hating it. Others may absolutely love this game and fair play to them, but honestly, I'm disappointed. The regular DLC and timed events seemed to work well but wasn't enough to keep me engaged. Graphically however, it wasn't too bad and the weapon customisation was pretty great. There were no real jump scares, night-time in the second one didn't give me any feeling 'horror' and the map seemed dead (no pun intended). AND by go here, go there, I mean literally move 5ft to the left to speak with one person and another 5ft to speak to the same person again. ![]() I also didn't like the fact the games was these kind of, go here, go there kind of games. I also don't usually skip cut scene or dialogue in games, but I just couldn't stand listening to dribble that came out of the characters mouths. The only reason I did complete it and not delete this sorry excuse of a sequel from my hard drive, was due to the fact I have to see things through. It's probably the first game I've tried to rush to complete and not in a good way. ![]() I played the entire game CO-OP with a friend, who was also a huge fan of the first game both of us completely hating the experience of the second one. ![]() I would say nothing was practically improved upon. The traversal elements were perfected and the story held some weight. Dying Light (1) was amazing! it was immersive and suspenseful.
